Angie's Amazing Race will be held October 2, 2011.

Angels are hard at work to make this year even better than last year!

Everyone did a great job in 2010 and we raised a record amount of money to help kick cancer's butt!! The weather and the temperature did not cooperate last year but our loyal contributors and participants sure did. Sun Coast Cruisers showed up with their beautiful cars and made the event even more special. There was pink everywhere....shirts hair, mustaches, hats, shirts, sweaters, shoes and more...

If you have not had the opportunity to attend one of our events, mark your calendar and join us this year. It is a special day and will make you feel good when you leave as you know you have made a difference. It is on Sunday, but as we always say, "God will forgive you for not going to church to attend this event".

The 2010 AAR winners love the new challenge trophy that was added to the race for AAR V. There seem to be two extremely competitive teams that show up each year.

2011 may bring new competition to the mix. We will just have wait and see.

The winning team is loving their trophies that they were given. Rumor has it that the big trophy shows up from time to time with a face on it. Has anyone seen it around town?

Samantha and Dana try the test to pick which breast has the small knot in it. This was great at the event, everyone got to try and pick the breast that had the knot. It was very interesting and informative. Now I know what I'm checking for when I check my breast, and if you don't know what to feel for when checking your breast come this year and try it out for yourself.

Riders are ready to head out with their clues sheets. You can see some of them studying it, they have to read ahead to figure out where they are going. This past year's clue sheet was written a little bit differently, they really had to really pay attention to what was being said. For instance: Eye hop u bee ready four lots fun.

Here is Mark, he comes every year and always gets into the mood of pink.

It is time again to start flying with our wings and raise money to help fight breast cancer. Last year's event was great, lots of people and lots of money was raised. What I love the most about the day of our event is that we are all there for one very important reason, we want to kick cancer's butt. I love seeing all the men in pink, pink beards, pink hair, pink shirts, and the women are so beautiful on that day. There is like a sweet spirit in the midst of everyone, tons of smiles, hugs, and lots of love in the air. I am looking forward to this year, it is our 5th one and it will be the best yet. If you haven't joined us in the past then make sure to be there this year.

After a thought provoking meeting we have decided to really keep our focus on the present and the future. We are striving to get the word out there about breast cancer, to raise the awareness and to help raise money to continue helping women that really need it. Soon there will be cars in the Wilmington Area that have pink writing on the back windows, so start looking for them. They will have Angie's Amazing Race and the date of the fundraiser. Excitement is in the air. You should also start seeing hints of pink angel wings soon. Yes, excitement is in the air.

The meeting this week was really good. So many ideas, and most have already been put to action. I love having new Angels, they come with energy and new ideas. We are already at $1500.00, and we haven't even really started yet. It isn't too late for you to come join us, so come on.

You know, sometimes you just don't have it in you to give what needs to be given. That is when God steps in and sends another person, or Angel, to help fill in. That is how it is this year for me, I need help this year and God has sent someone to step up and sort of take over with the journey that we are on this year. I guess we are like geese, when the front goose is tired then another will take the lead.

I am amazed at the energy that some of the Angels have this year and it is so nice to be able to sit back and watch their actions take shape. We have a meeting tonight and I will be sitting back and listening to their reports, and I'm going to be thanking all of them for their efforts this year.

My Angels fly hard every year, and this year is no different. We WILL fly toward success.

Time for another meeting.

Time for our wings to get flapping. We will be having our June meeting this coming Tuesday night, located at Britt Motorsports starting at 6:30. We will be sharing what accomplishments we have done in the past month, and go over our plans for our event.

Money is tight this year for everyone, and we appreciate anything and everything that anyone can donate to the cause this year. Jan Jones is out there working hard this year, she is taking up my slack, and I so appreciate it.

Angie's Angels are up and flying for another year. The meetings are taking place every month,the first Tuesday, in the "upper" room at Britt Motorsports. We are always looking for new angels, so if you want to join us, please come on and do it.

Angie's Amazing Race was Oct. 5th, and with the hard work of about 20 men and women we were able to raise $22,500.00 to donate to NHRMCF. There were times when we didn't think that we would make our goal, but we did and then some. A special thanks go out to all of the men and women that came out to support us on the 5th, and also to all of our sponsors and donors. Without all of the positive support this would never have taken place. Thanks.

Not only did we have a blast with Angie's Race, the angels were honored for their hard work and contribution to the Pink Ribbon Foundation at formal dinner held at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. So not only do we work hard........we get to play hard as well. We raised $16,000 for the Foundation. Not bad for a bunch of biker chicks HUH?

Angie's Angels had their second meeting this past Tuesday, the 1st of April. There were about 12 Angels and Warriors there, and they had a very productive meeting. And we were presented with our first check for $500.00. We are on our way. We will be working hard for the next months, to get the word out and to raise as much money as we possibily can. \

Just wanted to give an update on our total for the money that is being raised. Scott Britt came into our meeting Thursday night and told us that starting the 15th of March, and on every 15th of each month leading up to our event, he is donating $500.00. When you count that up, we are already looking at $3500.00. What a way to start out. Go support Britt's Motorsports anytime that you can.

Starting to fly.

We had our first meeting this week, at the home of the Angels - Britt's. They just open their place to us and welcome us with open arms. We were a small group for the first meeting, but there are others that want to be with us as we fly toward fighting cancer. The desire to do something constructive in this fight is strong, all of us have this common bond. We welcome anyone else that might want to join us, in person or in whatever manner. Help us Kick Cancer's Butt.
